I really enjoyed that Josh and Drew discussed the genre of horror th and just how many horror elements went into this film. Well, I suppose all of the above to some degree but it was a whole lot more, some interesting revelations and twists! The Cabin in the Woods: It’s not just another horror movie where five friends go into the woods and are killed one by one.

It makes you want to see the film too. It’s also at least the nook edition riddled with typos and poorly attributed dialogue that threw me right out of the story. Two stars seems really low, but “it was okay” about sums up my feelings on it. I can relate to the author’s style of writing but I didn’t like the plot. Could it be more cliche? The first time I read it I gave it five stars on Goodreads. There was a lot of potential, but it was overshadowed by an extremely shallow cast. Sex, drugs, alcohol and friends, what could be better?

I watched the film quite a while ago and must say that I don’t remember a great deal about it, just that it was weird, wacky, out there and pretty difficult to follow. The full screenplay follows, interspersed with cast photos, character pages, and anecdotes from the actors. I loved the film and have enjoyed other books by the author and was expecting much better, even for a media tie-in.


The writing style is casual and disarming, enabling it to sucker punch you in the gut. Not really worth your time unless you are just a super fan of the film or you are into collecting movie novelizations.

Having said that, I’m interested enough to check out some of Lebbon’s non-novelization books. I know the incomplete sentences were used for effect but it just didn’t work for me, I like my sentences completed more often than not and it just happened too many times that it started to affect my enjoyment.

And it seems like it is. I mean come on, the movie is so fucking good. The imagination that went into some of the nightmare descriptions was a great addition, too. I just don’t know why people are going to die. It was a fun read, but there were some things that could tje been tweaked. Shopbop Designer Fashion Brands. And then there are the exception to the rule when the book was well written, compulsive reading and just a joyous experience; I could bore you with a list of those that fall into this category but I’ll save you the Arnold Rimmer rant and just say this novel is a perfect horror book; short, sadistic and really funny, great monsters, deaths and all the juicy stuff that makes horror books serious fun.

An absolute must read for any fan of the cxbin D I recommend this to anyone who has seen the movie and loved it just as much as I did.
