With the success of his first book, he has become well known in many parts of the world and has become one of the most important French intellectuals of the latter 20th century. Retrieved August 20, He began his academic career teaching classes with his alma mater.
He then proposed “hyper-modern,” similar to post-modern but with a superlative and unstoppable meaning, focusing on new technologies, markets, and global culture. From his book which brought him to prominence, Lipovetsky has continued to write on topics such as modernity, globalizationconsumerismmodern culture, markets, feminism, fashion, and media, but they have the common thread of individualism.
Lipovetsky began his philosophical career as a Marxist, similar to many others in the s, affiliated with the ” Socialisme ou Barbarie ” which demanded the world not to transform it but rather to “swallow it. However he criticizes the model that came from that as producing alienated individuals with fragile personalities prone to emotional disorder due to hedonism and immediate gratification.

Proteins in the latex migrate to the surface and penetrate through the skin. Glove manufacturers try to avoid powder by producing a powder-free or powder-reduced glove. Many efforts have been made to remove the proteins. Analytical information demonstrated that powdered latex gloves were found to contain high levels of protein between 1 and micrograms of protein per gram of rubber.
Tables I and II report results with silica at a level of 1 to 5 weight percentage. It is well known that proteins can transfer from the latex to the powder. The proteins probably would stay adsorbed on the latex particles throughout the compounding process. The proteins then easily are removed. It is suggested that the silica attaches itself to the surface of the latex particle substituting the protein molecules and displacing them, see Fig.

Such powder-free films might have a different kind of a problem. A general estimate is that only about 20 percent of the total protein evaluated by the ASTM test are harmful.

The silica dipping process is simple, short and inexpensive. The test method involves an extraction and precipitation procedure followed by an assay of protein content.
Here again, the presence of silica greatly diminished the level of latex allergenic proteins measured by the LEAP method. A non-silica rubber blank has micrograms of proteins per gram of rubber, see Table I.
This paper suggests a way to eliminate the proteins with a simple, elegant and inexpensive method using fumed silica additives. This test method covers an analytical test for determining the amount of total aqueous extractable protein associated with NR, latex, and elastomeric products.
